Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with VMI Board of Visitors
In its Sept. 12, 2023 meeting the BOV Nominating & Governance Committee confirmed that under BOV Statement of Governance provision (#5) regarding private organizations operating in the name of or for the benefit of the Institute, “The Cadet newspaper was raised as an example if the Institute was ever to enter into a formal agreement with the publication.” The administration pledged to the BOV the MOU would be consistant with MOUs with like organizations. After receiving the draft from the VMIpoint of Contact the Foundationrevised it to be consistant with those MOUs in place with the Alumni Agency subordinate organizations and the Peay endowment but adding greater reporting requirments and accountability standards in keeping with the Foundation's policy of greater transparency. As of December 9, 2024 The Cadet Foundationis waiting the final, signed MOU from the BOV.
